Association of Independent Music Partners with ACS Custom to Raise Awareness of Hearing Health in the Independent Sector

London - Marking World Hearing Day 2022, the Association of Independent Music (AIM) has today announced a new partnership with hearing protection specialists ACS Custom. Joining AIM’s membership as a Friend of AIM, ACS will provide important guidance and advice on hearing health for AIM’s membership of independent music businesses.

World Hearing Day is an initiative from the World Health Organisation which is held on 3 March each year to raise awareness on how to prevent deafness and hearing loss and promote ear and hearing care across the world. This year’s theme is “To hear for life, listen with care”.

“Any trade body recognises that they should provide advice and guidance on health and wellbeing within their sector. Therefore, ACS Custom are proud to be asked to be the AIM hearing conservation partner to raise awareness on hearing health and offer the best protection to its members.” said ACS Director Jono Heale, who also suffers from chronic music induced Tinnitus and hearing loss.

Jono goes on to say “In my early years working in the music business I had no idea I could be damaging my hearing until it was too late. Raising awareness and educating all those working in loud music is crucial especially the next generation of music makers and industry professionals.”

ACS Custom will be offering support to AIM Members together with exclusive discounts on high-fidelity custom fit hearing protection. Today Jono Heale will be taking part in an AIM webinar discussing hearing health including how the ear works, how it can be damaged and how you can protect yourself listening to loud music safely.

Paul Pacifico, CEO of AIM commented: “Hearing protection is such an important aspect of health and wellbeing for everyone working in the music industry and a priority for AIM. We're pleased to be partnering with leading hearing experts in ACS, who will ensure that our members have access to the very best advice and hearing protection available."
